Within the Pharmaceuticals division we are committed to making disease a thing of the past! At the Small Molecule Site in Schaffhausen you will support an end-to-end site accountable for chemical synthesis of API’s which are formulated into Tablets and Capsules and final packaged, meeting the needs of our customers and patients worldwide.

Cilag AG is recruiting for a Small Molecule Site Lead, located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. This person is accountable for providing end to end leadership for all small molecule functional areas to execute the strategies, objectives, plans and policies for EHS&S, quality, reliability and cost. Small molecule operations in Schaffhausen consists of the API operations department across the Large Volume Plant and High Containment Plant and our Solids operations department across Fill Finish manufacturing and packaging. This role will sustain a high performing organization through relentless focus on safety, product quality, plant productivity, budget management, outstanding teamwork and employee engagement. This individual will act as a key member of the API Group Leadership Team as well as the Schaffhausen Campus Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for end-to-end leadership and operational performance to ensure the site meets or exceeds the annual targets for safety, quality, service and cost optimization in delivery of the portfolio
  • Drives operational excellence end-to-end by promoting a culture of collaboration, agility and innovation, and in close collaboration with Schaffhausen Campus LT, assures a Credo based culture which upholds the company’s commitment to employee development with a focus on promoting the value of a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Maintains a fit for purpose organizational design, acting as a change leader actively coaching and developing people to strengthen both individual and team capabilities, attract and retain diverse talent, set clear goals and recognize great performance
  • Translates Platform and Campus strategy into site objectives and ensures effective execution
  • Is a strong member of the API Group Leadership team, Schaffhausen Campus Leadership Team and proactively engages with the API network in sharing knowledge and synergies
  • Direct leadership of 100 employees, Indirect leadership of 160 employees

Education

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or a related field is required

Required

Experience and Skills:
  • 10 years of experience in a GMP or regulated environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Proficient in German and English
  • Management of multiple teams of professionals
  • Track record of building an inclusive environment

Preferred
  • Small molecule operations experience
  • Operational leadership experience
  • Process Safety Management experience
