About the job

Google’s line of products and services to clients never stops growing. Strategic Partner Managers have the rare opportunity to build a long-lasting relationship with our top partners. You cultivate these existing partnerships to make sure they can take full advantage of Google’s ever-growing suite of offerings. You possess strong relationship-building skills and are apt to see mutually beneficial opportunities with partners in order to best represent our users, products and programs.

As a Smart Home Business Development Manager for Devices and Services, you will be part of the Hardware Business Development EMEA team within the Devices and Services Business Organization (DSBO), working across a number of consumer hardware products in the home (e.g. Nest Hub, Nest Wifi, Chromecast with Google TV, Nest Cam, Nest Thermostat), and on the go (e.g. Pixel, Pixel Buds).

In this role, you’ll apply your negotiation skills to cultivate and execute complex product related partnerships specifically in the Smart Home industry to unlock distribution opportunities and to secure successful product launches and experiences in the EMEA region.

Your role will require you to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Legal, and other Business Development teams in that region to enable partnerships and hence support the growth and success of Google’s Devices and Services business.

Google’s Global Partnerships team powers extraordinary user experiences through partnerships that solve users’ needs, advance our partners’ goals, and further Google’s mission. Our team provides meaningful solutions — from helping publishers and developers grow their businesses through monetization solutions, to helping our long-term partners anticipate and navigate change in a way that delivers economic and reputational value. We build and distribute products through partnerships across a multitude of product areas, including Ads, Search & Assistant, Geo, Platforms & Ecosystems, Devices & Services, Health, Retail, Payments, Next Billion Users, and more. We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our most complex and strategic partners.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the current Smart Home features and roadmap and be able to communicate clearly the benefits and advantages of the product strategy to a partner’s business, and to convert them into a tangible business development opportunity.
  • Provide feedback from partners and market intelligence to Google’s product teams.
  • Build, maintain, and evolve strong relationships with partners in the Smart Home industry, working directly with some partners and through scalable models to reach large partner ecosystems.
  • Lead exploratory discussions with potential partners in all categories and contribute to structure and define the right agreement model, as well as to negotiate partnership agreements.
  • Identify innovative/creative ways to deliver success across the vertical, and design and implement agreements, processes, and policies to improve Google’s ability to partner globally.
