Position Summary

As a “Specialist Enzyme Technology”, you will drive developments and innovation in Enzyme Technology, with focus on protein modification. Deliver innovative and competitive products and processes based on convincing scientific hypotheses and in alignment with business and consumer needs. Contribute as lead scientist in key projects and activities within a cross-functional team with internal and external recognition. Translate and communicate with impact scientific insights within the business context. This competence is key to deliver innovative solutions linked to key consumer trends like clean-label & sustainable plant-based products.

A day in the life of...
  • Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends, and developments in relevant field of activity.
  • Develop concepts & technologies that are rooted in science and that are patentable.
  • Lead and manage knowledge building and business-related project activities with a proactive participation.
  • Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties (scientific and business audience).
  • Recommend, plan, and deliver technical and scientific support for NPTC projects.
  • Participate actively in expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites.
  • Coach and guide technicians, students, and apprentices.
What Will Make You Successful
  • PhD in Enzyme Technology with focus on protein modification / protein chemistry
  • 2-4 years R&D experience in the field of Enzyme Technology or Food Science with a focus on enzymatic protein modification
  • Good understanding of structure-function relationship and how enzymatic modifications impact techno-functional properties of proteins (incl. analytical methods)
  • Experience in recombinant expression and purification of proteins is a plus
  • Strong passion and curiosity for innovation and disruptive concepts
  • Good written and oral communication skills (including presentations)
  • Good teamwork spirit
  • Fluent in English - Other languages would be an advantage (French)
