Your ‘day to day’

As a Sr Engineer - Consumable Development, you’ll be part of the Consumable and Process Technology group, accountable for the mechanical conceptualization, development and prototyping of innovative products (Design For Testing), as well as their update for industrialization (Design For Manufacturing). In this role you’ll have to perform analyses and conduct research, development and project activities in fields where little or no prior art exists.

You’ll also be requested to apply problem-solving techniques to facilitate/design improvements for methodologies, processes, products, systems, and/or equipment. Additionally, you’ll accountable for generating, maintaining and sharing project schedules, budget estimates, test plans, and provide recommendations of technical alternatives.

More specifically, you’ll

  • Recommend technical solutions and develop product concepts according to performance, design and manufacturability constraints
  • Realize detailed designs and technical requirements to establish partnership with external suppliers / services to support realization of functional prototypes for internal or external use
  • Establish experimental plans and reports to assess and validate technical solutions in collaboration with other technical functions (Product testing, Product Stewardship)
  • Establish and maintain Product specifications according to PMI requirements, support technology transfer to Manufacturing functions
  • Establish project schedules and share status to Management through dedicated meetings
  • Establish activities reports according to PMI QA directives
  • Interact with Marketing function to understand and integrate specific look and feel features

  • Who we’re looking for

  • College/University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability in industrial design of mechanical miniaturized systems development (consumer goods, medical devices, electronic devices)
  • Proven experience in industrial manufacturing processes of plastic components (parts forming, joining techniques, finishings), experience in Solidworks CAD tool
  • Understanding of fluid dynamic and thermal transfer principles
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and agility in problem solving
  • Ability to communicate effectively and express sophisticated concepts at all levels of the organization, encourage direct and open discussions
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written
