Storage Engineer (Open to remote)

Role: Storage Engineer

Responsibilities:

Leadership

• Provide strategic guidance for network services as required
  

• Manage network projects
  

• Assist the Service Owner and Team Lead
  

Assist with the coordination, preparation, presentation, and implementation of proposals and
projects linked department

• Be a go-to expert for troubleshooting network related issues
  

• Liaise with Partner Organizations on a service management basis
  

Service Management

Manage, prioritize and take ownership of tasks assigned to the storage services team as required

Includes service requests, change requests, incidents, project tasks, and others as required

Monitor and take ownership of tasks assigned to the network services team ensuring completion
within SLA targets

Technical Support

Provide support for all storage services

Design, install, configure and support storage infrastructure

Assist in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of network automation tasks using Ansible and related technologies

Provide on-call support (either on-site or remotely using VPN connectivity) outside normal working hours as required on a rotational basis

Other network administration tasks as required:

Coordinate with vendor support for resolution of problems and incidents

Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning activities as required

Apply network patches, updates and perform upgrades

Assist in the planning and running of disaster recovery tests

Perform capacity management and reporting as required

Produce documentation as required

Perform support activities during planned maintenance windows outside of normal working hours

Perform other duties as required

What we are looking for:

+10 years of experience in a similar position

Extensive experience with storage arrays, network-attached storage, and storage area networks

Extensive knowledge and support experience of at least some of the following:

High-end and medium tier storage arrays

Network-attached Storage (NAS)

Cisco storage area network

Scale-Out solutions

Experience with Ansible or other automation technologies

Experience in writing technical proposals and service guides

Storage certifications are desirable

ITIL or Prince2 certification is a plus

Fluent in English. Spanish is a plus
