Strategic Pursuit (RFX) Leader (f/m/d)

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

The Strategic Pursuit (RFX) Leader is responsible for reviewing the existing process, adapting as well implementing a reinvented, state-of-the-art and end-to-end RFX concept to secure customer centricity and excellent customer experience in every RFX engagement.

In this role, you are working closely with SAPs Bid-management team as well as our Customer Success Sales and Presales teams. An important aspect for success is debriefing, adaption and continuous learning in crafting of the RFX process. Another essential element is the definition of a clear measurement system, KPIs and reporting. Setting up a comprehensive quality assurance system is equally important. Furthermore, to strength the effectiveness and efficiency of the RFX process, building up assets and best-practice is a must. The process itself includes engaging and virtually managing proposal teams and capabilities for new business opportunities at all stages. This includes but is not limited to generating thorough roadmaps, gathering and creating compelling content, driving the defined project plan for timely delivery, and executing high quality, impactful documents and presentations.

This is a newly created position within SAP Switzerland, reporting directly to the COO SAP Switzerland, to shape the future of our RFX engagements, and opens many opportunities to contribute on a strategic and operational level to SAPs Customer Success organization.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Strategic Tasks Working On The System
  • Elaboration and completion of a comprehensive holistic RFX concept that goes beyond pure process optimization in exchange with internal stakeholders
  • Drive and be responsible for the implementation of RFX concept and adapted e2e bid-process
  • Define and prioritized flanking measures to be successful (e.g. trainings) to coach and enable colleagues
  • Developing a clear qualification system to ensure that investments are effective.
  • Implement continuous improvement plan, define best-practice sharing, further develop of asset libraries and building up pursuit center of excellence
  • Development and maintenance of a Quality Assurance program for all deliverables linked to the process.
Operative Tasks Working In The System
  • Has direct accountability and leads the allocated “must-win” opportunity from start to finish according to the new bid-process
  • Providing strategic and tactical advice and guidance to virtual account teams and supports hands-on
  • Ensure that objectives are achieved, responsibilities are appropriately distributed and enthusiasm and motivation remain high
  • Promoting quality and efficiency through the development and implementation of rigorous compliance
  • Establish strategic relationships with key decision makers and interact when appropriate with clients
  • Acting as Counselor to the existing Bid-Team as well as Sparring-Partner for local Management Team
PROFILE
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a strategically similar position in bid management, proposal development or pursuit leader and the direct management of proposal operational organizations
  • Experienced in leading large, strategic and complex proposals – preferably in the business software area
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing or communication, or comparable professional experience
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator in German and English – both written and oral
  • As this job requires responsiveness to client needs, flexibility will be required on a regular basis
  • Customer-first mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and political skills, including ability to develop relationships, understand team dynamics, take initiative and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team and with people at all levels, including senior management
  • Proven skills in influencing others through a strong appearance, thoughtful challenges and using sound judgement
  • Preforms under stress and is able to work on a variety of projects
  • Strong business acumen and the skill to focus on business value while always taking on the client perspective
