We are seeking a Sustainability Expert to help us to bring these commitments to life.

You bring a proven track-record of combining the rigor of leading-edge understanding of environmental sustainability and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) with the pragmatism of real-world deployment. You will be responsible for translating external requirements, guidance and best practices in environmental sustainability assessment into tools and processes that support the organization to identify and take effective action. You will compile, own and maintain an Operations Emissions Factor database and provide expert direction on the calculation or sourcing of relevant environmental impact data. You will help build internal knowledge and capability relating to environmental sustainability / LCA and establish and lead a community of LCA practitioners, coaching / mentoring, guiding & supporting members and colleagues in related technical roles.

Qualifications

Ideal skillset & knowledge to fulfill the role :
  • In-depth understanding of Sustainability topics in general and specifically Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology
  • Solid experience providing leadership relating to the application of environmental sustainability principles and LCA methodology and tools in a chemicals/industrial production, sourcing and/or supply chain context
  • Experience of handling and organizing large amounts of data and turning data into actionable insights
  • Excellent judgement and experience on what balance of rigor/pragmatism is required to support and guide stakeholders to take credible and effective action
  • Experience establishing and managing external academic/consultant partnerships highly beneficial
  • Experience of working with common LCA software tools (SimaPro, Gabi...) highly beneficial
  • Program and/or project leadership experience beneficial
  • Understanding of production, sourcing and supply activities in the chemical industry
  • Technical degree, preferably in a subject area such as environmental science / engineering / sustainability or chemical engineering / chemistry
  • Proven track record of influencing skills
