Ensure a harmonized and resource-friendly implementation of the ABB Sustainability Strategy 2030 objectives and targets. Create Turbocharging sustainability culture and messaging/positioning. Increase quality and number of environmental hazards and incident reported. Create and lead cross-functional network of Sustainability “champions” and work groups. Ensure that topics are timely communicated and addressed in Turbocharging (e.g. product/material compliance) to prevent business/financial risks.

Your responsibilities

• Ensure that environment/sustainability is addressed in local divisions, through the HSE/SA global network of advisors
• Develop and implement Turbocharging specific Sustainability business strategy and plans, including introduction of environmental/sustainability KPIs
• Design strategies and deliver programs to increase internal and external stakeholder engagement, awareness and commitment to sustainability
• Support R&D in applying product life cycle assessments and circularity concept: support SCM, Real Estate and Operations in various sustainability-related projects and product & material compliance process
• Develop and maintain a register of globally applicable Sustainability laws/regulations and standards with external support; drive compliance project implementation (material/product compliance) including efficient reporting to evidence conformity
• Develop annual sustainability reporting in compliance with international standards, guidelines and frameworks (including GRI, UNGC, SDGs etc.) with external consulting support, HSE central team and MarCom Department
• Assess global Sustainability training needs and competencies; cooperate with Training Program Manager in planning and execution
• Support maintenance and continues improvement of Turbocharging-tailored and ISO-compliant Management System for HSSE / Sustainability

Your background

• Bachelor or Master in business, environmental sciences, environmental management, engineering or sustainability
• At least 5 years’ experience leading sustainability initiatives in a corporate setting
• ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 certified internal auditor
• Ability to work across corporate functions and levels
• Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience in working across all levels and functions of an organization
• Able to translate sustainability-related legislation ( i.e. REACH, ROHS, SCIP, WEEE etc.) into action plans
• Fluent in English, German would be an advantage
