Position Summary
Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of four Nestlé Institutes: Material Sciences; Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences and Packaging Sciences. As a Sustainability Site Specialist you will drive sustainability across Nestlé Research sites with innovative ideas contributing to the overall Nestlé net zero pledge.

A day in the life of a Sustainability Site Specialist
- Develop and implement projects and actions in terms of electricity, thermal energy, restaurants, renovations, waste & recycling, land management and communicating with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure that Nestlé Research Lausanne remains a flagship for environmental sustainability
- Manage sustainability impact analysis, risk assessment program for VCLB and EPFL sites, including incident investigation and corrective actions
- Maintain Environmental sustainability certification and responsible for: ISO 14001 certification and Biodiversity nature & economic certification
- Manage external sustainability reporting and communication
- Engage with external stakeholders (e.g. local regulators) on Environmental topics to ensure full compliance and build long term, positive relationships
- Create a compelling understanding of Nestlé sustainability values
- Ensure coaching is provided to managers as well as team leaders and newcomers to help them take ownership, and follow sustainability rules within their area of responsibility
- Master degree in Environmental Sciences and Engineering as well as in Sustainable Management and Technology
- At least 5 years experience across environmental sustainability in an operational environment in a large private company/group environment
- Ability to manage change and deliver results through others and find innovative and creative solutions
- Project management experience in a cross-functional environment with recognized implementations
- Open to design thinking, innovation, operational excellence and digitalization concepts
- Knowledge in coaching individuals and teams in different environments
- Good skills in anticipating issues or improving current practices
- Good level in English and in French (written and spoken)
