Role Purpose

The role purpose is to guide the Talent management strategy for Syngenta Crop Protection (CP) by shaping and implementing initiatives across the entire Talent management spectrum. As supporting the organization to have the right capabilities to respond to the business challenges now and in the future, the Talent Management lead for CP set the direction from talent acquisition to talent identification and development and including strategic workforce planning. As member of the CP PODLT, the Talent Management lead contributes to shape the overall People agenda for Syngenta CP and nurtures a customer centric culture across the CP POD community.

Accountabilities

Strategic Talent management leader covering the integrated talent value chain: from talent acquisition to talent identification and development.

The Talent Management lead will partner with CP HRLT, Regional POD Heads and HR community to develop the talent management strategy, practices and programs in support of the CP business and capability needs. Active contributor to CP POD agenda and the CP POD community.
  • Design the Talent Management strategy in support of the current and future business needs.
  • Identify business critical capabilities and develop strategies on acquiring and/or building them internally. Assesses current and desired capabilities to ensure we deliver on business strategy and designs, develops and executes strategies that provide measurable growth by supporting business and organization capability development.
  • Talent Acquisition – develop talent acquisition strategy and execution in close partnership with the business and Regions. Proactive external talent mapping and relationship building, including development of external talent programs. CP employer value proposition and brand. Shape technology requirements for efficient recruitment and onboarding support in collaboration with Syngenta Group Talent and Leadership Head.
  • Succession planning and pipeline building – together with CP HRLT build strong actionable succession plans for critical leadership and technical positions with diverse talent pipeline. Continuously and proactively evolve understanding of internal and external talent pipeline for critical capabilities, developing relationships and network in the industry.
  • Development and learning - guide leadership and talent programs design and development for CP employees based on business needs and culture requirements.
  • Enables next generation talent practices built for agility and scale
  • Supports the strategy with technological solutions and platforms.
  • Maintains an external view on Talent Management trends, technologies and benchmarking of Syngenta CP talent management approach to evolve internal practices in respond to market movements and business needs.
  • Develops an approach to strategic workforce planning to respond to current and future business needs. Prepares workforce transition plans to support talent at all levels
  • Design and rollout metrics to readily assess the effectiveness of the Talent management programs in light with the business goals.
  • Actively maintains the capabilities on TA and TM of the CP POD community and HRBPs and nurtures talents within the network.
Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities:
  • University degree in Social or Business Studies or equivalent expertise gained on the ground.
  • Experience in designing an end to end talent management strategy in support of the business objectives.
  • Implementation of talent and capability development programs in support of the business needs.
  • Experience in Talent Acquisition including EVP, employer branding and strategic sourcing.
  • Understanding of talent management technologies.
  • Ag industry experience preferred
  • Designing strategic workforce planning and HR Operations previous experience is a plus.
  • 8-10+ experience in HR, with min 3 in senior leadership positions including leading teams directly or indirectly
  • Experience as senior TA or TM leader and/or POD Business partner required
  • Deep expertise in Talent management practices is required
  • International work experience required, experience across both developed and emerging markets preferred
  • Experience in building diverse high performing teams or networks
  • Ability to lead and work effectively across disciplines within a matrix environment spread across geographies and cultures
