Your field of responsibility


An outstanding opportunity to establish and lead the newly founded Large and Anomalous Payment Control function under Group Payment Board COO. The role will involve:

  • Providing Governance, Rule & Model Management and Advisory Services, Business Sup-port, MI Reporting and Product Management for the function.
  • Managing a global team of approximately 10+ resources in target.
  • Working closely with change team to onboard applications and it’s payments onto the new control service and work to transition the support function from project to BAU.
  • Ensuring that the new control is compliant with the firm’s bank-wide SOX/Control Activities Framework (CAF) framework for Core payments processes.
  • Ensure the new control is compliant with the firm’s Information Security policies and practices.
  • Manage existing, and develop new AI/ML-based models to detect anomalous payment patterns.
  • Engaging with payment experts, officers and stakeholders in corporate functions, business divisions and the Non-Financial Risk and SOX 404 team to continuously monitor efficacy of the new control.
  • Monitoring risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation to payment process owners and broader stakeholders across the firm.
  • Continuously driving quality, control and innovation in the bank’s payments processes
  • Being influential in designing automated control testing and monitoring capabilities for payments
  • Working in close collaboration with other senior leaders in the Payments Control and Enhancement Program, the bank’s strategic roadmap for Payment Processing
  • Communicating with regulatory bodies and internal control and risk functions

The Group Payments Board COO team is a growing team in Zurich.
The Payments Control and Enhancements Program (PCEP) was established to reduce payments risk and provide a more holistic approach and framework to payments management and processing with-in the bank. As a multi-year Top Program with executive sponsorship, PCEP’s four key objectives are to:

1. Reduce the risk of erroneous payments leaving the bank
2. Ensure payment capabilities are resilient and secure
3. Enhance payments control framework
4. Assess end of service life issues in payment applications.

Your skills and experience


We are looking for a LAPC Service Owner to have the following skills and expertise:

  • Sound knowledge and expertise in Risk Management policies and practices, including CAF/SOX.
  • Familiarity with AI models and Model Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services, preferably Payments and knowledge and experience of managing payment processes
  • Managing risk – Demonstrated experience in evaluating risk likelihood and impact; taking into account all risk factors to balance risk, service and cost when communicating risk implications and contingency plans
  • Delivering business value and productivity – Taking accountability for organizing and delivering work to maximize business value for clients and stakeholders, establishing what can be delivered and viability of solutions
  • Ability to driving change with resilience and adaptability - The ability to navigate a way forward through uncertainty and ambiguity with a positive mindset, embracing change
  • Analytical approach - A logical approach to problem solving, making rational decisions based on analysis of data from a wide range of sources
