Aim Of The Position

The Manager DSP Development sets day-to-day objectives, is accountable for leading team members of approximately 10 people and acts as process owner for DSP including the underlying science. The manager has the final accountability for the process development, science and tech transfers executed by DSP group.

Essential Duties
  • Sets team goals and objectives in line with the company business objectives. Owns final accountability for all PD DSP related results.
  • Additionally, supervises and coaches the Process Development DSP team of highly skilled Scientists and Process Engineers and supports their development, the performance of appraisals and leads recruitment of new hires.
  • Furthermore, plans daily and weekly activities based on business goals and project goals. (via Reliability Room Meetings and Flawless Project Execution (FPX, JnJ project management tool)
  • The person is responsible towards the identification, assessment and development of new scientific concepts and technologies.
  • The position holder is accountable to build new capabilities, improve services and remain agile and fast adapting as a development DSP unit.
  • Not only accountable for science within function but ensures its review in project-related fields and areas of expertise. Making sure that records and raw data are accurately retained and archived.
  • Finally, ensures compliance of DSP Development towards EHS, HR and GxP quality requirements.

What We Expect

Qualifications
  • MSc level or equivalent in Biotechnology Engineering. Higher university degree e.g. PhD could be of added value
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience as people leader and responsibility within DSP. Previous hand-on experience is mandatory.
  • Excellent people leader skills
  • Excellent laboratory, technical and scientific skills with proven experience
  • Creativity and strong problem-solving is an usual habit
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (preferably in German & English)
