Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with network planning, cloud computing, caching, and content delivery.
  • Experience translating edge and network forecasts into actionable network infrastructure projects.
  • Experience developing technical requirements and designs for network assets such as space, power, fibre, and leased wavelengths.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with infrastructure in Africa and Middle East.
  • Understanding of Network Planning including dark fibre, wavelengths, cloud computing, content delivery, and subsea cable infrastructure investments.
  • Experience with analytical coding and frameworks including SQL, R, Go and/or Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a data-driven analytical approach to solving complex challenges.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

We plan and acquire infrastructure solutions for Google’s production network as well as large Google Cloud customers. We set the strategy, create the plan, and acquire the scalable infrastructure required to ensure Google Cloud customers across countries have the most scalable, secure, and fastest experience possible.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and publish strategic roadmaps for Google’s metro production network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with strategic stakeholders and designers to develop network infrastructure execution plans and business case approvals.
  • Use technical judgement to create solutions for custom-cloud network requests.
  • Translate edge and network forecasts into actionable network infrastructure projects.
  • Interpret and implement business requirements for latency, availability, and scalability into network solutions.
