Third Party Warehouse Manager EMEA (m/f/x)

General Summary

The Third Party Warehouse Manager provides leadership and governance for all aspects of Regional Warehousing and the Distribution Centre (DC) network in EMEA in order to replenish the Country Cluster DC network and ship deliveries direct to customers. This position will be the main liaison party between Smith+Nephew and the EMEA Global DC operational teams based in the Netherlands and support network changes and new business set ups. The position will in addition govern, drive and roll out regional warehouse standardization of processes and systems, create end-to-end visibility, continuous improvements and rationalize activities in the network.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and govern the end-to-end Warehousing services at the EMEA Global Distribution Centre (GDC) including inbound dock to stock, storage, outbound pick and pack to effectively replenish markets and ensure that all Value-added Services at the EMEA GDC are effectively established and operating smoothly
  • Act as primary liaison between any Smith+Nephew function and the EMEA GDC teams and as escalating party for any issue related to the EMEA GDC and strive to streamline and improve communication flows
  • Ensure appropriate warehousing performance levels, cost levels and controls at the GDC in line with Quality, Internal controls and SOX requirements and support any internal and external audits at the EMEA GDC, including follow up on findings, deviations and CAPAs
  • The position will lead an international team of Logistic SME’s, including managing and leading a team based at the EMEA GDC, overseeing and coordinating all operational activities of the GDC 3rd Party Warehouse Provider/s
  • Develop a set of comprehensive Warehouse business metrics that will improve performance, customer service and drive down cost
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and Warehouse operations lead for any regional initiative or project that will alter or extend the scope for activities within the EMEA GDC
  • Develop a regional Warehouse governance policy and plan which can be effectively rolled across the whole Regional 3rd Party Warehouse network and strive for standardized practices across the whole regional Warehousing spectrum

Requirement
  • Technical study degree or business degree with technical knowledge. Degree in Supply Chain or similar is an advantage
  • Broad work experience in warehousing operations and/or transportation management
  • Experience in managing 3rd party Logistics Providers
  • Medical device and health care industry experience is an advantage
  • Experience leading and developing an international remote team
  • Excellent communication skills and strong in driving problem solving
  • Good IT knowledge (SAP Sales & Distribution etc.)
  • Fluency in English is required - any other language is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to the Netherlands (at least 30%) - post Covid-19
