For our Computer Aided Drug Discovery team, we are looking for a motivated Trainee for a period for 6 months (start Q1 2022). As a trainee, you will work within the CADD team in the chemistry department with the objective of building a platform for predicting the toxic potential of existing and hypothetical compounds in silico.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare receptors of a diverse set of cytochrome variants for 3D docking with inhouse software.
  • Perform a retrospective analysis of inhouse compounds that were experimentally classified in the past.
  • Integrate open-source and inhouse software to predict metabolic soft spots in KNIME workflows and compare with existing tools to profit from lessons learned of other complementary approaches.

Candidate’s Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master level student in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Cheminformatics
  • Hands-on experience in a linux environment, with modeling software or a workflow tool
  • Good English skills (spoken and written)
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Good communication and team-working skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
