Description

The role requires a creative mind-set, strategic and analytical thinking coupled with experience designing products and services across platforms and screens, as well working in virtual and cross functional teams. You’ll have user research skills, keen attention to detail, and your work will also show a clear thought process. You have a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design capability, strategic thinking, business nous, and the ability to solve complex user problems.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for delivering expected project outcomes on time, efficiently and effectively
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements with business stakeholders, product managers, digital marketers and engineers
  • Conduct UX research applying the appropriate methodology
  • Develop digital strategies, concepts and design artefacts for digital products and services
  • Execute all UX design stages from concept, user stories, user journeys, wireframe, mock-up, navigation to high-fidelity designs until hand-off to delivery and engineering
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly ideate and validate designs through sketches, prototypes, and testing with our UX research team
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure high-quality implementation and UX
  • Participate in new-business activities, presentations and estimates & represent UX in sales pitches
  • Interface directly with customers by leading presentations, workshops and in-person visits
  • Further the practice of UX discipline within EPAM by sharing knowledge, improving process, evaluating new tools, and updating the team on industry advances
  • Pro-actively keep up with design trends and industry developments, especially in the focus areas for the company (which might change from time to time)
  • Contributes to team culture by attending events and sharing a POV on UX-related trends and topics

Requirements

  • Proven track record (at least 8 years of relevant professional experience) and strong portfolio demonstrating excellent research skills, design skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to solve complex design / business problems
  • Hands-on design skills and proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of industry standard research methods, design and prototyping tools
  • Strong understanding of usability engineering lifecycle processes
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), user testing, rapid prototyping, sketches, concepts, user journeys, sitemaps, wireframes and interactive prototypes in high level fidelity
  • Ability to work with our clients and partners to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet our consumers’ needs
  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals and technological constraints
  • Ability to understand and challenge design problems, breaking them into actionable pieces and providing insight and clarity
  • Ability to manage and develop consistent design language to guide the look and feel for projects
  • Excellent design rationale, presentation skills, collaboration and analytical skills with the ability to sell-in your UX approach and ideas
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams yet being able to take ownership and work independently in a fast-paced agile environment balancing priorities, fidelity, quality, and delivery
  • Ability to start work and ideate quickly, without having “all of the ideal inputs"
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to business teams, clients and especially the development team
  • Experience working virtual teams
  • Ability to think and respond quickly to client and internal team demands
  • Eager to tackle new problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Open to adapt to changing environments and to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
  • Native/Business Proficiency in German or French
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science or related field. Advanced degree preferred

Nice to have

  • Understanding of front-end web technologies with knowledge borne from experience
  • Experience supporting account or sales teams in new UX business opportunities
  • Experience with Google Venture sprints
  • Knowledge in the field of animation, motion graphics
  • Business or psychology background
  • Experience with eye-tracking and biometrics
