Vice President, Consumer Health Manufacturing – EMEA

Location: Switzerland, Zug

Scope of the role and purpose

The VP of Manufacturing is a critical leadership position responsible for the development and deployment of the Manufacturing strategy across Consumer Health Supply Chain in the EMEA Region. This role will have solid line responsibility for the EMEA manufacturing sites. This individual will report to the Vice President, EMEA Supply Chain and will serve as a key member on the EMEA Consumer Health Supply Chain Leadership Team. Reporting to this position will be each of the Manufacturing Site Leads, the regional External Manufacturing leader, Manufacturing Excellence leader and Engineering (MS&T) leaders will report into this position. The scope includes both internal and external manufacturing sites.

The scope of responsibilities includes
  • Ensure the manufacturing sites develop and execute strategies and plans that meet or exceed annual targets for customer service, cost optimization, safety, quality, and compliance. Provide overall leadership and decision-making for all sites to ensure that production and financial targets are achieved/exceeded in a compliant manner.
  • Lead the regional cross-functional manufacturing Leadership Team, cultivating strong partnerships and ensuring that our end-to-end supply chain processes support our customer and business needs. Drive manufacturing and compliance excellence by providing leadership for such transformational programs as Reliability, Zero Defects and Continuous Improvement Programs. Provide focus on complexity reduction, continuous improvement, and standardization.
  • Lead and successfully complete site remediation efforts throughout network.
  • Improve asset and resource utilization.
  • Own the Change Management program.
  • Deploy network optimization strategies to create a competitive advantage for the internal sites.
  • Strengthen the talent pipeline of manufacturing leaders and enhance organization capabilities to enable long-term growth. Advance and accelerate our digital strategy.
  • Create a culture and environment that allows us to consider and leverage benchmarks and world-class best practices. Inspire the organization to take risks and to harness ideas from a variety of sources.
  • Align functional strategy, tactics, and execution to regional strategy.
  • Represent Manufacturing on Enterprise/Corporate Councils as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Education: BA/BS in a relevant field of study. Master’s degree in an applicable field of study would be an asset.
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in leading a Manufacturing organization with unionized workforce.
  • Experience leading multiple plants across several countries. Experience across other supply chain functions (Planning, Procurement, Distribution), with 1 or 2 of these experiences at senior leadership level.
  • Proven cycle of success in leading and managing manufacturing sites with multiple technology platforms.
  • Experience with leading and developing high-performing, cross-functional and matrixed teams.
  • Proven ability to attract and develop superior talent.
  • Experience leading within a highly complex business environment with diverse product suite and rapidly changing regulatory environment
  • Track record of transformational leadership in Manufacturing
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory environment; proven ability to transform manufacturing to effectively respond to changing regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated customer orientation, experience with creating innovative solutions.
  • Proven industry expertise – continuously strives to achieve world-class status and deliver benchmark business results.
