Wealth management/Swiss Bank/Asset Management ERM an experienced VP. This role reports directly into the Head of ERM WM/SB/AM. This role has material exposure to senior management in both the WM/SB/AM and Group CRO. You will have the opportunity to be part of a newly established group and help to shape the strategic vision of the team.

The role will give you the opportunity to come up with creative ideas and interact with a broad set of senior stakeholders across business and risk organization and providing high impact value-added to the risk management teams, business and regulators.

The VP role in WM/SB/AM ERM will cover

  • Support the syndication of both regular (semi-annual calibration, risk inventory, monthly dashboards) and ad-hoc limit increases in close collaboration with divisional SRM functions
  • Partnering with other areas to propose necessary changes to models, frameworks, and methodologies to capture & reflect the WM/SB/AM risk exposures and profiles
  • Reviewing drivers of measured risk usage, assessing impact of future business activity, and proposing actions to management as required
  • Escalating risk issues to senior management in advance to allow proactive management & remediation
  • Syndicating a Risk plan that is tightly integrated with Financial and Capital plans developed by CFO
  • Presenting materials in senior committee meetings as required
  • You will work with teams located in other business centers to ensure that WM/SB/AM needs are considered
  • Co-ordinating with functional teams world-wide
  • Contribute to regulatory deliverables and ensure consistent messaging

Your future colleagues

The WM/SB/AM Enterprise Risk Management function (WM/SB/AM ERM) is responsible for

  • coordinating multiple different risks across the Swiss bank (SB), Wealth Management (WM) and Asset Management (AM)
  • syndicating risk appetite, limit requests, risk identification and risk methodologies in close collaboration with the Strategic Risk Management functions (SRMs) of the aforementioned entities
  • making sure these are aligned with overall business plans

The WM/SB/AM ERM team works closely with stakeholders and partners in multiple areas, including

  • Risk modeling teams (Market, Credit, Liquidity, NII, etc.)
  • Central risk teams (e.g. risk appetite, risk identification)
  • Legal entity aligned Strategic Risk Management (SRM) teams within WM/SB/AM
  • WM/SB/AM support & control areas (CFO, COO)

Your skills and experience


You bring:

  • 6+ years’ experience in Risk, or a closely related area
  • Technical or Economics degree (or equivalent)
  • Data processing experience is a key asset
  • Ability to provide answers to complex questions and tailor the level of details to the target audience
  • A good understanding and eagerness to deep-dive into:
    • Risks in Swiss Bank, Global Wealth Management and Asset Management
    • Risk methodology, theory of risk metric design, and statistical approaches to estimating loss potential on client and portfolio level
    • Basic accounting practices, P/L attribution
    • Regulatory frameworks (RWA calculations, upcoming Basel changes, etc.)

  • Constructive attitude, focusing on:
    • Hands-on approach and the ability to process and transform information into tangible conclusions
    • Maintaining a positive attitude despite high-visibility deliverables with hard deadlines
    • Promoting a well-organized and detail-oriented approach to tasks

  • Outstanding communication skills in English and a pro-active approach to people and topics
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives
