VP, Global Commercial Operations (M/F/D)

The VP, Commercial reports to the EVP, Chief Commercial Officer. This role is responsible for leading Global Commercial Operations, which comprise of global business planning, data & analytics, sales operations, global market access, and global training, learning & development. In this role, you will act as a consultant and proactive advisor to the CCO and Global Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) on all matters related to commercial strategy, process improvement and commercial excellence.

This position will be based in Zug, Switzerland, but we will consider candidates in Denmark and Germany, providing the incumbent can commute to Switzerland on a regular basis. Your Responsibilities

  • Support CCO and CLT in driving the key global initiatives
  • Develop global capabilities to generate strategic insights and inform commercial decision making (CRM analytics, CI, market research, commercial dashboards, etc.)
  • Manage the annual/quarterly/monthly objectives and performance planning process
  • Promote and establish an action-oriented performance culture
  • Assess commercial performance regularly with a critical eye and a pragmatic approach
  • Serve as a strategic trusted partner that can understand and adapt to the ever-changing needs of the business
  • Ensure the development of the global commercial training curriculum, content and delivery
  • Build market access capabilities to drive Bavarian Nordic’s market access strategy for future launches and market expansions, including pricing & reimbursement and tender management
  • Collaborate with global leaders, managers and SMEs
  • Create an agile learning culture that supports a high-performing global field force organization
  • Provide best practices and thought leadership for Customer Relationship Management and Salesforce Effectiveness for all countries
  • Be accountable for day-to-day operations supporting the CRM platform and Salesforces Effectiveness programs
  • Support the Global Commercial Organization on the CRM Change Advisory Board
  • Manage Salesforce Effectiveness analytics that will support Bavarian Nordic in optimizing our field force approach to achieve sales and marketing excellence

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Science is required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in the pharma/healthcare industry; vaccine experience preferred
  • Global commercial experience required, preferably with P&L responsibility in the vaccines business
  • Leadership experience with cross-functional teams managing multiple broad/complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders in multiple countries
  • Analytical experience and understanding of market dynamics as well as sales processes, preferably within the vaccine industry
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams with a focus on innovation/digitalization agenda
  • Strong strategic and operational problem-solving skills with the ability to drive towards decisions and solutions
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships
  • Superior presentation skills, both written and verbal
