About The Job

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operations leader to help produce and deliver our breakthrough therapies to people with spinal cord injury on time and with outstanding quality. The VP Operations will be responsible for managing several vital functions across our organization, including supply chain and manufacturing, information technology, customer service & technical support, and quality (depending on the background of the individual) and will collaborate closely with other functional leaders to deliver on our business goals and objectives. This leader will select, implement, and assure effective use and execution of the systems and processes required for a rapidly scaling company to conduct commerce in the US and Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement operations strategy for a rapidly growing company
  • Collaborate with other company leaders to determine and drive toward company goals
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process
  • Build a high performing team to support manufacturing, supplier management, information technology, customer service and technical support, (and quality)
  • Select and implement the systems and processes required to scale-up and deliver robust execution across the organization
  • Implement and measure performance of suppliers and internal stakeholder organizations
  • Manage inventory, provide forecasts, and determine & drive best processes to accept, process, fulfill, and deliver customer orders
  • Lead the identification and implementation of an effective and stage-appropriate ERP system and other enabling tools across the enterprise and specific to functions
  • Build robust supplier management capability, including forecasting, pricing and cost management, quality systems implementation, compliance, and oversight
  • Manage customer service and tech support, including partnering with VP Marketing to select and implement a CRM system and other field-oriented software platforms
  • Identify and create best practices to continually improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency in supply chain, manufacturing, quality, customer service, facilities management, and information technology
  • Proactively upgrade operational processes and practices in advance of the company’s needs
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive operations experience working in a regulated industry such as Medical Device; Class III experience is a strong plus
  • 10+ years coaching and leading high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated experience scaling an organization from 100 to 1000 employees
  • Experience with Lean production and operating principles, monitoring methodology and statistical process control
  • Track record of successful process development, manufacturing line setup and optimization, value engineering, process, and yield improvement programs
  • Global outlook and experience in a cross-cultural business environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; ability to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ethical person, with positive outlook and unshakeable can-do attitude
  • Ability to lead in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
