Dupont Water and Protection business is seeking a Technical Manager to lead and drive its growth platforms in the rapidly growing and evolving xEV space (e-Motors, Batteries, Thermal Management, Passenger Protection, Light weighting).

xEV is a mega trend in the auto industry, set for explosive growth with new vehicle production. DuPont is poised to capture growth with new high performance and high value xEV offerings for motors and batteries using some of the auto industry’s most trusted brands – Nomex® And Kevlar® under our corporate Advanced Mobility Innovation Platform.

The role is an R&D Leadership position managing a global team of applications developers and technical service engineers focused in the xEV space. Key focus areas are to develop and drive a technical strategy to support the business strategy for one of the business’ top priority growth platforms. The solution space is open beyond our core aramid products and will include new materials via open innovation, cross collaboration within the company, acquisition, and partnership models.

Your Key Responsibilities

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technology Strategy & Roadmap Converts the global market-back strategy into a clearly articulated technology strategy and technology roadmap for the market segment.
• Growth Develops/drives portfolio of growth projects consistent with the market strategy using established best practices. The individual will play an active leadership role in establishing the scope of the application development growth projects and in coordinating growth related activities.
• Resource Alignment Aligns global resources versus growth projects and establishes individual goals and deliverables. Regularly monitors and manages progress versus objectives.
• Staffing Input Provides input on global strategic staffing and development plan to continuously improve organizational knowledge, capability, and core competency.
• IP Supports the necessary systems, guidance and direction for intellectual property development, prosecution, and maintenance as it relates to the segment technology strategy.
• Collaborations Initiates technology collaborations/projects with internal/external development partners.
• Competitive Trends Establishes/supports the necessary systems to stay ahead of emerging and competitive technology trends for the segment.
• Customer Interface Fosters and maintains a strong ongoing connections at the market/customer interface.
• Sustainability Aligns developments with our our goals to „innovate for good“ and „protect people and the planet“ and „empower people to thrive“. Practice safer by design principles with team.
  

Your qualification profile

• BS in Engineering, Electrical preferred
• 5+ years of directly related automotive experience, preferably in EV space
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing a team
• Knowledgeable with modern xEV powertrain architecture with strong industry contacts/relationships, expert knowledge preferred
• Able to manage and prioritize strategic initiatives with global team
• Goal oriented with strong ability to meet timelines with measurable proof points
• Broad application development vision including new material development

• Business acumen w/ ability to integrate Technology within business strategy.
• A self-starter with effective collaboration skills internally/externally.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills at all interface points.
