Our client is a premier cancer diagnostic, pharma services, and information services company serving oncologists, pathologists, pharmaceutical companies, and academic centers in their pursuit of providing better futures for people living with cancer. We are looking to appoint an Histotechnologist III for the laboratory located in Rolle.

Under the responsibility of the Laboratory Manager your main responsabilities are to:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in all core responsibilities of a Histotechnologist I and II.
  • Consistently and independently perform the advanced level of routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s), according to established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Differentiate acceptable and unacceptable processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens
  • Determine when prescribed techniques and equipment should be modified to meet special conditions and to expedite diagnosis
  • Proficient in all applicable areas of testing in the department.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department
  • Participate in continuing education Adheres to laboratory quality control policies and documents all quality control activities; has the ability to recognize outliers and correct them
  • Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting of test results and resolves or immediately reports to the department supervisor or lead technologist
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable of general and specialty requirements within CAP/CLIA/NYS institutions

Your profile:

  • You have a minimum of six years’ experience as an Histotechnician/Histotechnologist
  • You acquired an experience in a clinical laboratory , an academic experience will not be retained
  • You are experienced in Immunohistochemistry (Dako, Bond III, Ventana platforms and Grossing technique)
  • You have a Master degree or Bachelor of Science in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • English fluent.
