The UCI Innovation Unit is responsible for technical regulations across all UCI sanctioned cycling disciplines. Additionally, the unit is responsible for the organisation of the UCI Cycling Esports World
Championships, the fight against Technological Fraud, the coordination of new technologies related to data in cycling and the development of E-MTB verification tools.
Role responsibilities:
Innovation Unit Operations:
- UCI Equipment Commission: assist the Innovation Manager with the preparation of meetings,
- Maintain a continuous dialogue with the coordinators of all disciplines concerning
- Assisting in the development of new tools to facilitate technical communication between the
Communication with stakeholders:
- Coordinate communication with different stakeholders, in particular manufacturers and
- Address training seminars for Commissaires on questions related to technical aspects to
- Ensure you are available to manufacturers and answer their questions clearly and accurately
- Work with the Innovation Coordinator on existing procedures
- Assist with analysing impact test reports and UCI forms
- Publish and update the list of wheels that are in compliance on the UCI website
- Receive and register submission forms
- Maintain regular contact with manufacturers
- Create OwnCloud accounts for secure data exchange between manufacturers and the UCI
- Assist in 2D and 3D technical drawings checks
- Assist with three-dimensional inspections of prototypes
- Create an approval certificate
- Create “UCI approved” frameset labels
- Publish and update the list of approved framesets on the UCI website
Technological Fraud:
- Coordinate technological fraud equipment administration and logistics
- Provide support for UCI Technical Commissaires
Travel to competitions:
- Ensure the technical regulations are respected at races
- Evaluate the quality of inspections at competitions and pinpoint potential problems
- Organise inspections of equipment in collaboration with the Commissaires and undertake
Miscellaneous:
- Update and distribute documentation concerning equipment (Clarification Guide of the UCI Technical Regulation, Approval Protocols)
- Clothing visual design approvals
- UCI Bike Jig coordination
Profile:
- Preferred higher-education degree or equivalent
- Preferred industrial/technical drawing skills
- A very good understanding of the sport of Cycling
- Excellent command of English written and spoken, good command of French written and
- Knowledge of UCI procedures and operations
- Rigour, precision, and sense of organization
- Ability to work within a team
- Open to working on weekends when needed.
