Join our Biopolymers R&D team within Chemtech division in Switzerland as R&D Engineering Internship to help us take our Bio-based and Recycling Innovation Group to the next level.

In this role you will be accountable for:

Supporting our R&D engineers in activities related to bio-monomer and bio-polymer production. Biopolymers have aroused increasing attentions nowadays and stood out as a renewable alternative to the fossil-based plastics, which brings detrimental impacts throughout their life cycles in the form of land and water pollution, carbon emissions and toxins released upon incineration. In this Internship, you will be contributing to various scales of experimentations (from lab to bench to pilot scale), making happen the production process of these novel bio-monomers/polymers. You will also be responsible to conduct analytics and characterization of the products, visualizing and quantifying their impacts. Along the project, you will also prepare presentation slides, key findings, and documentation to connect with potential partners and participate at meetings.

The internship is intended to begin from 1st September 2021 and last for six consecutive months.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

We are looking for excellent (final year) master or PhD students with a major in chemistry / material science / chemical engineering / process engineering along with a solid understanding in polymer chemistry. You should have laboratory experience in conducting organic chemistry experiments and in using various chromatographic equipment (GC/HPC/GPC). You should also be able to work remotely with MS Office 365. Your capability to work independently with reaction model development in Matlab/Python would be advantageous.
