Our Internship Program is open to students who want to gain practical experience in one of the various career fields at the heart of the financial services industry. Over the course of this in-depth, comprehensive program you make valuable contributions to the bank’s work, develop skills, expand your knowledge and grow in confidence. You participate in exclusive events, shadowing days, real-world business challenges and demanding tasks to extend your experience and create valuable networks in the bank and the wider sector. By the end of the program you gain a rich, varied insight into our work at Credit Suisse and the industry in general.


Start date: 01.11.2021
Duration: 6 months
Academic requirements: Completed at least four semesters of a bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a master’s degree from a university or university of applied sciences, ideally in law


Your field of responsibility



You will collaborate closely with and provide support to the European team of Wealth Planners, servicing sophisticated client relationships across different European countries. You will be actively involved in a dynamic pan-European team. You will have the opportunity to take part in the important contribution made by Wealth Planners to the success of running client relationships and you will experience this in different business areas within Market Area Europe. You will gain an in-depth insight into the role of the Wealth Planners in the Private Bank. You will be involved in developing material for Europe-wide Wealth Planning projects. You will be involved in projects for clients with interests in one or more countries.
You will have the opportunity to join client calls and calls with external advisers such as lawyers and accountants. You will gain experience of typical wealth planning structures such as companies, foundations and trusts.


Your future colleagues



The European team of Wealth Planners is composed of qualified lawyers or tax accountants, in their respective countries. We work with clients in the following areas: structuring of their private wealth (e.g. privately held companies, trusts); succession and estate planning (passing wealth to the next generations); guidance on relocation to a new country; philanthropy and sustainable investments; Family governance (managing the responsibility of wealth across generations) and setting up/running a Family office to coordinate and manage wealth. Your qualifications and skills


Are you the perfect fit for this role in the Wealth Planning department? Now is your chance to show us how your skills, experience and attributes are just what we’re looking for. Show us how you have:

  • Completed at least four semesters of a bachelor’s degree or are currently enrolled on a master’s program, ideally in law
  • A strong academic record and a keen interest in financial markets
  • A prior banking experience would be an advantage (i.e.: tax department or relationship management)
  • A desire to seek challenges and that you are a supportive, adaptable team member who can build strong relationships
  • Effective communication skills, especially in writing
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to take responsibility for your actions
  • Curiosity to learn about the important role of Wealth Planners and to have an opportunity to work with several different business areas in Market Area Europe
  • Fluent in English
  • Demonstrated that you frequently plan and organize within a group and proactively approach challenges
  • A highly motivated, flexible can-do attitude and are a team player
  • Well-developed conceptual thinking
  • A high standard of work and can take last-minute schedule changes in your stride
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives
