Position Summary

As a Project Engineer in the Konolfingen site Engineering Department, you will plan and execute projects in our pilot plant and production facility in close collaboration with our quality department, operational teams and various other stakeholders. Your enthusiasm and strong technical background will allow you to deliver projects on time, on budget and to continuously exceed expectations.
A day in the life of...
  • Full commitment to compliance (legal, safety, quality, finance)
  • E2E (End to End) mindset: ensure our projects start with a clearly defined and well aligned scope and end with a successful hand-over including all documentation, trainings and qualification documents
  • Pro-active interaction with stakeholders: understanding their needs and ideas, simplify complex matters in a way that decisions can be made, prepare meetings to arrive efficiently with decisions, provide regular up-dates on project status
  • Innovation / Sustainability: promote innovative solutions that are more efficient and help to meet our net zero goal, develop solutions that challenge and improve the status-quo
  • Troubleshooting: assist our technicians in more complex root cause analysis and help improve the asset intensity of our pilot plant and production facilities
  • Feasibility studies: prepare high-level studies by asking the right questions to get a broad picture without going into too many details
Capex Management:
  • Initiate project: understand the requests and complete high-level concept studies, evaluate pros and cons of various options, align expectations of all stakeholders, define project scope in an easy-to-understand way, prepare cost estimations and project timings, submit budget requests
  • Execute projects: write tender documents and URS (User Requirement Specification), ask for quotations, evaluate technical offers and bids, investigate the situation on site, define responsibilities and deliverables for all team members, write progress reports, ensure installation or construction on site meets our safety and hygiene expectations, escalate issues when necessary and propose solutions, update detail timing and project budgets continuously
  • Close-out projects: prepare trainings, plan commissioning together with start-up leaders, prepare and execute qualification, archive all key documents, set up maintenance plans, obtain necessary approvals from authorities etc.
What will make you successful

  • Engineering degree (process, mechanical, chemical, food, electrical)
  • First professional experiences (internship, side jobs etc.) are an advantage
