For our Flow Chemistry team, we are looking for a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to implement electrochemical transformations in batch and flow systems.

Job Responsibilities
  • Propose, design, and execute electrochemical transformations on laboratory scale (mg to g) to expand the reaction toolbox available to medicinal chemists
  • Identify synthesis bottlenecks which could be circumvented with electrochemical synthesis
  • Investigate substrate scope and functional group tolerance to ensure robustness and applicability of developed methods
  • Follow developments in the field and evaluate application opportunities to streamline synthesis of novel drug discovery project relevant compounds
  • Collaborate with team members to transfer results from batch experiments to flow equipment and to ensure smooth adoption of developed methods
  • Accurately document experiments and present findings in a multidisciplinary environment
Candidate’s Requirements
  • PhD degree in organic chemistry or related area
  • Specialized in electrochemistry
  • Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Routine use of modern methods to purify and characterize organic compounds (e.g. prep. HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, GC, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communicator, enthusiastic and team-oriented
  • Fluency in English
