  • Management and safeguarding of the ship, responsibility for the safety of guests and crew, personnel management
Duties / Responsibility
  • Independent management of the ship according to existing law and regulations
  • Keeping of the ship’s log book and registers of service
  • Keeping of the guard journal and supervision of the Night Auditor
  • Basic and advanced training of Sailors
  • Instructing the crew about the station bill and their respective individual tasks
  • Regular checks of safety equipment like
  • Life vests
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Hoses
  • Hatches
  • Lifeboat
  • Emergency exits
  • Monitoring of gangway and lighting at night
  • Assignment of nautical personnel for guard duty when the ship is docked and guests are on board
  • Assignment of Sailors and Deckhands for ship’s maintenance (cleanliness and order)
  • Controlling of the assigned tasks
  • Ordering of nautical materials
  • Management of waste disposal and supply of drinking water
  • Always be friendly and courteous towards everybody, especially guests and crew
