You will join Aerosol Science team with the focus on innovative tools and projects applicable to research and development of the smoke free products (SFPs). The team is combining state of the art measurement tools with computational modeling to characterize and optimize the physics and chemistry related aerosol phenomena. In this role, you will support our projects by experimental and computational investigation of flow, heat transfer, and aerosol dynamics.

Who we’re looking for:
Available from mid-July to February
Currently studying for your Master/PhD degree in Mechanical/Material/Chemical Engineering or Physics
Curiosity to get involved in innovative projects in collaboration with a team of scientists
Good programming skills preferably in python or C++
Hands on experience with computational physics/fluid dynamics platforms preferably OpenFOAM
Willingness to contribute to experimental measurements of aerosol formation/evolution
Experience with high performance computing (HPC) or simulations on cloud is a plus
Experience with version controlling tools (e.g., github) is a plus
Proficient in English

Roles & Objectives:
In this internship project, you will focus on:
Setting up simulation cases to model flow, heat transfer, and aerosol dynamics
Collaboration with experimental colleagues to obtain appropriate data for models verification
Contribution to design and development of new product concepts with ideas from simulations/experiments as well as design and development of a test bench for measurements of aerosol formation/evolution
Communication of the results with appropriate visualization and plotting
