Swisslinx is currently looking for a System Engineer Backup and Database (f/m/d) to join the Corporate Infrastructure Operations Team of our international industrial client in Pfäffikon SZ, about 25min by train from Zurich Main Station.

In this exciting position you will be covering the design and implementation of software defined solutions in a global company with over 10’000 employees worldwide, working on both Backup and Cloud technologies!

Responsibilities

In this role you will ...

• Lead, engineer, configure, install, maintain and troubleshoot backup and database services
• Work closely with System Architects to design and automate backup and database infrastructure
• Act as a technical team lead for backup and database topics
• Configure, install, implement and troubleshoot SD infrastructure
• Test, release and roll out new technologies, as well as developing services
• Monitor performance of systems to guarantee hardware and software processes
• Cover 2nd and 3rd level support to solve problems
• Collaborate with IT colleagues to fix issues
• Play a part in corporate IT projects
  

Your Profile

You are the one we are looking for if you...

• Feel comfortable with on-premise AND cloud services, or are keen to learn
• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar
• Bring at least 5 years of experience in database and backup technologies
• Have good experience in IaaS and cloud solutions (or would be up for learning these)
• Bring knowledge of IBM Spectrum Protect and Recovery and TBMR - Cristie Software - maybe you even have IBM certifications?
• Have solid skills in MS SQL
• Have experience in database services from AWS and wish to progress in this area
• Bring excellent technical problem solving skills
• Understand a customer focus
• Are motivated and driven to accomplish great things
• Are willing to travel up to 10% internationally
• Are comfortable working in English - German is a plus
