BI Data Engineer

Overall Objectives

• Ensure the data architecture will support the developing requirements of the business
• The performance of the databases and data related processes are optimal and the robust and scaled functioning of the EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) / BI applications is ensured
• The data model is continuously enhanced in order to improve the quality of the data, to explore new methods of analyzing and enable the Analytics team to flexibly adapt to the fast changing business needs
• New technologies are explored and adopted and the EPM platform is utilized in an optimal way

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the optimal performance level of all components of the EPM system, databases and processes
• Manage and analyze data sets, build business logics, rules and processes to transform the data into digestible models
• Support the Analytics team in building the Analytics applications with deep technical knowledge and understanding of processes and data acquisitions and transformations
• Discover opportunities for new data acquisition
• Answer business questions and propose solutions by applying machine learning techniques and algorithms, identify data patterns and trends, and recommend business decisions
• Monitor and continuously improve of the deployed algorithms and processes
• Play an internal consultant role in collaboration with Finance, IT and other departments in projects that aim to increase the quality and robustness of the data models and applications
• Drive the enhancement projects from the technical point of view, teaming up with the technology partner (Infor)
• Support the upgrade processes of the EPM software, to ensure that data models and processes are compatible with the newest versions and are using the latest available technologies
• Contribute to optimizing the user and data management to ensure efficient and automated processes
• Support the Analytics team in maintaining the product roadmap with prioritizing and estimating technical aspects and sharpening the team’s agile product development methods to find the most suitable way of working

• Deep knowledge of SQL queries and databases is a must
• Python, Java & C# languages knowledge is an asset
• Experience with automating and scheduling processes and tasks
• OLAP database experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Infor d/EPM or similar BI platform is a plus
• Experience with Infor BI Application Engine Process Editor (BI#) is a plus
• Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytical models
• Knowledge of data visualization and BI tools is a plus
• 3+ years as data engineer / data scientist / data analyst / BI analyst or similar
• Consulting experience is a plus
• English – excellent oral and written skills where a dditional language skills will be beneficial
• Eligible for a working permit in country of hire - Ideally in Geneva or Berlin area
