Business Analyst - IFRS 17/Accounting/Insurance - this is a long term contract/project opportunity for our Zurich based client in the financial sector.

Your Experience/skills
  • Sound understanding of business and accounting, especially of insurance accounting business requirements with the ability to document and communicate them effectively
  • Knowhow or willingness to acquire knowledge of financial reporting including IFRS17
  • Practice with configuration of standard accounting solutions, preferably on a SAP platform such as SAP Bank Analyzer, FPSL and Accounting for Insurance Contracts; background in sub-ledger implementation is a plus
  • Familiarity with end-to-end system landscape and the data flow from source for producing required bookings, reports and interfaces
  • Capability of understanding the implementation design for new solutions and of specifying requirements to developers for change requests
  • Awareness of agile project delivery and following a DevOps approach, including sprint planning, JIRA and retrospective
  • Ability to formulate and document test cases to meet specified business requirements as well as to execute tests, reconciliation and root cause analysis
  • Experience with testing SAP FPSL or Bank Analyzer-based solutions along with SQL, Python or further programming knowledge is an advantage
  • Languages: English, fluent in written and spoken
Your Tasks
  • Translating accounting standard requirements into IT requirements with a focus on IFRS 17
  • Evaluating potential solutions to ensure requirements are aligned with accounting standards and can be implemented in the SAP FPSL landscape
  • Configuring the SAP FPSL system according to elicited requirements
  • Performing end-to-end integration testing of FPSL and supporting the development of automated unit test cases
  • Analyzing results and identifying error patterns in large data volumes
  • Ensuring a timely and high-quality delivery of user stories as prioritized in the backlog
  • Collaborating closely with other project teams to develop solutions and support problem resolution while driving knowledge transfer and collecting feedback
