DescriptionPosition at SeagenSummaryAs a member of our data & reporting IT team, the Business Intelligence (BI) Developer uses and transforms data, to create reports, dashboards to give answer to business intelligence, reporting, and data analytics needs. Works closely with internal IT and external business partners and teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.As a BI Developer, your main responsibility is to work with the business and the development teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports, and to implement those reports in Power BI. It is essential that the BI developer provides data that is accurate, congruent, and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems.The BI Developer will be part of the international team and needs to work with across several areas to design report solutions, create and test them, create training for the users and support users with the usage.Principal Responsibilities
  • Working with functional teams, for requirement gathering, documenting, and development of reports and dashboards to meet business needs
  • Responsible for translating business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources
  • Proven experience with data ingestion and data transformation in Power BI (SQL, DAX and M language)
  • Experience with report design adjusted for best user experience
  • Responsible for creation of reports and dashboards and provide support for their usage
  • Provide technical assistance and cross training to data & report end users
  • Help business users for generation of ad-hoc reports
  • Must be able to perform duties with moderate supervision and respond to direction
  • Ability to manage priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Responsible for documenting team processes and report solutions
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of report development required
  • Demonstrable proficiency with intermediate Power BI skills
  • Conceptual understanding of the design and construction of data models in the Power BI platform
  • Requires an ability to act as technical representative for BI development
  • Required Programming / scripting experience with SQL language
  • Ability to work in a team environment with both technical and business members
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to interact across multiple functional areas and explain technical information in a simplified manner to support user training and overall compliance
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in biotechnology / pharmaceutical environment or similar industry preferred
  • BI certifications desirable, preferably related to Power BI
