Janssen Research and Development, L.L.C., a member of Johnson and Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Business Support Specialist, Investigator & Patient Solutions (I&PS), Clinical Operations Solutions (COS).

This position is to be located in Springhouse, PA; Chesterbrook, PA; Raritan, NJ; High Wycombe, UK; Beerse, Belgium; Leiden, Netherlands; Allschwil, Switzerland.

As a BSS, you are encouraged to be an independent and self-motivated individual willing to participate in key cross-functional site feasibility, investigator and patient journey initiatives, such as Patient Engagement, Digital Recruitment, Site Feasibility Workflow, Site Staff Engagement & Training and other cross-functional process improvement projects in support of Global Development business needs.

In conjunction with COS management, you will contribute to the definition and development of new processes, standards or operational plans in support of the organizational/business strategies, with a direct impact on business unit/function overall results. You complete projects/assignments based on the strategy.

You typically contribute or manage projects of smaller to moderate scope and participates in multi-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate on a diverse team to enable industry-leading department in investigator & patient capabilities, with a focus on delivering optimized solutions value for R&D. Actively contributes to GD wide delivery and adoption of patient and site-centric strategy aligned with our customers’ needs.
  • May lead and/or drive multiple smaller scope projects that facilitates gaining deep insight to site & patient-centric solutions for relevant business partners in GD and clinical therapeutic areas.
  • Participate on defining and developing new processes in the I&PS strategy that facilitates roll out of our portfolio support strategy.
  • Serve as an SME for I&PS, providing advice/recommendation to study teams regarding the supplier(s) and device/technology alternatives.
  • Complete Requests for Proposal documentation, and recommend appropriate suppliers to support study needs.
  • Continually review new emerging technologies focusing on efficiencies to be gained.
  • Ensure that principles of Credo and Business Conduct Policy, Purchasing Code of Conduct, Healthcare Compliance and Ethical Code of Conduct of Pharmaceutical Medicine are used in supplier relationships.

Education

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education is required; Preferred in Health, Business, Engineering, Science, Computer Science or IT.

Experience And Skills
  • At least 3 years operational experience in clinical trials with a pharmaceutical company and/or Life Sciences sector and/or a Clinical Research Organization is required.
  • Requires clinical research operational knowledge, strong project planning/management expertise and effective communication skills. Experience and ability in coordinating global teams in a virtual environment.
  • Experience with vendor management is required. Experience with Digital Health Technology suppliers is preferred.
  • Proven track record in delivering system implementations yielding a positive return of investment for organizations is required.
  • This position requires in-depth knowledge of multiple cross-functional eClinical systems, industry trends, industry guidelines and regulations, and standard methodologies. Advanced understanding of GCP, ICH, and 21 CFR Part 11 is required.
  • Previous experience of leading teams and developing talent is preferred.
  • Great understanding of the therapeutic areas where Janssen is involved is preferred.
  • Experience in the domains of Patient Engagement, Digital Recruitment, Site Feasibility Workflow, Site Staff Engagement & Training is preferred

Other
  • Exhibit proficiency in English language both written and verbal.
  • Potential for 10% travel – domestic and international.
