At Emergent BioSolutions Berna, the Swiss affiliate there are - beside manufacturing activities – professionals in Quality Assurance and – Control, Supply Chain and Regulatory affairs working. Approx. 140 professionals are working on the Swiss site of Emergent in Bern / Thörishaus.To complement and strengthen our team in Procurement we are looking for aBuyer 100% M/FYour tasks include
  • Purchasing of raw materials, auxiliary materials, and services for the Emergent BioSolutions subsidiaries in Switzerland and the EU.
  • Daily processing of purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Monitoring and adjustment of delivery dates according to supplier’s order confirmations, informing the business manager in case of delivery delays
  • Internal escalation in case of delivery delays and working out alternative solutions together with production planning and other departments
  • Handling returns, complaints and claims
  • Assist Finance Department with incoming invoices, Sarbanes-Oxley audits, along with other various financial audits
  • Obtaining quotations and price negotiations, correspondence with suppliers, customers, and internal departments
  • Collaboration in defined projects (e.g. new product lines)
  • Support site and global sourcing activities as directed by manager
What you bring to the table
  • Certified Purchasing Specialist or BSc. in Business Management or commercial apprenticeship with specific training in purchasing, logistics, materials management
  • At least 5 years of professional experience and thereof at least 3 years of experience in operational procurement, disposition, materials management, or logistics (preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry)
  • Profound knowledge in SAP (ECC/HANA) combined with very good MS Office skills
  • Very good written and spoken language skills in German and English (Level C1)
  • Very good time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and multi-tasking
  • Strong work ethic and high integrity
