Job Description
  • Plan and coordination of the process support, refractory knowledge and its best practices worldwide by sharing throughout experts network in order to ensure in CEMEX the newest and more profitable technologies available. Able to support in definitions, planning, coordination, supervision, developing mass and heat balance of the different processes in cement industry. Able to support commissioning of new cement production and to coordinate the networks required inside and outside of the company in all the different business units.
  • Plan and coordinate the grinding process knowledge and best practices sharing, throughout expert networks in order to ensure in CEMEX the newest and more profitable technologies in the field.

Main Responsibilities
  • Specialized Refractory Process support to all Cement operations globally, able to develop different projects to be implemented and optimized in cement operations and support during maintenance shutdowns
  • Enable & supervision refractory process expertise input into the new and existing plants designing solutions through expert resources within Global Technology and cement operations
  • Active participation in the coordination of intra and inter-regional refractory specialist to ensure integral solution to all the problems involve in the cement industry and able to transfer the solutions through networking applicable in different plants
  • Lead the stage of production, quality and maintenance related definitions and technology selection for new production facilities inside cement industry
  • Design and lead the commissioning process of new production facilities, keeping on sight a successful plant startup within time and budget and ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment
  • Supervise global initiatives execution in order to ensure the maximum benefits from them
  • Coordinate intra and inter-regional grinding specialists to ensure integral problem solving within the cement plants.
  • Review and approve selection of quality technology for CAPEX projects to ensure the adoption of standard, proven equipment.
  • Enable & supervise process grinding expertise networks to ensure adapting to technology changes and promote technology adoption through enabled networks
  • Develop and coordinate global & regional grinding & drying process initiatives to ensure technology transfer of the most profitable initiatives
Position Challenges

  • Identify opportunities areas to be developed in cement operations and supporting them from the refractory process point of view, selecting the technology appropriated and generating mass and heat balance required, calculates efficiencies of the different system in the pyroprocess, cost of investment and quality of cement, according to each local situation (quality standards, energy, production target.

  • Managing and execution of project supported by refractory process point of view, maintaining and developing the internal and external networking

  • Refractory Special support transferred through all the cement operations and refractory maintenance support required in cement industry

  • Identify new grinding related processes and technologies from the very initial phase, when the most advantage can be taken, but also when information is scarce.

  • Find the optimum balance between efficiency, cost of investment and quality of cement, according to each local situation (quality standards, cost of energy, cost of labor)

  • Achieve peers recognition in the field to be able to articulate the network

  • Maintain & evolve the external networking according to latest developments in the field

    Position Requirements
    • Language Proficiency: 100% English
    • Academic Background : Ideal Bachelor Degree in Architecture or Engineering (Masters Degree a plus).
    • Areas of expertise : 0-4 years of experience in Cement Operations & Production
    • Tecnhical Skills: Technical Knowledge
    • Understanding of the cement operations
    • Knowledge of the refractory maintenance required inside the cement operations
    • Knowledge of Process inside of the cement operations
    • Understanding the requirements propose of the different Network cement operations
    • Deep understanding of mass & heat balances required in cement industry
    • Knowledge on cement industry and technology
    • Understanding of principles on project management and economic evaluation.
    • Ability to analysis, define and solve multi-point problems.
    Technical Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of cement process grinding process, and its relation with combustion, clinkerization and quality principles, from a grinding point of view.
    • Deep knowledge of cement technology, cement and production process.
    • Plant operations administration, mining, quality assurance knowledge at least at a basic level.
    • Ability to define and solve multi-point problems.
