R&D Admixture Technology Manager

Job Description

Plan and manage the admixtures R&D initiatives aligned with the company priorities and strategy, based on internal and external guidelines, and lead the product technical development and implementation to support worldwide Admixture Operation, in order to have the latest technology and increase profitability of CEMEX worldwide.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the R&D Admixtures initiatives, supporting the company global priorities and strategy in all core businesses.
• Lead the technical product development and implementation to provide our Admixture Operations with latest technologies and solutions.
• Manage and implement state-of-the-art methods and techniques in analytical and organic chemistry, supporting the R&D and product development.
• Manage and evolve the New Product Development Requests (NPDR) Process in order to define the Technological Agenda for CX Admixtures Business
• Participate in the business case analysis of any expansion project of the CX Admixtures Business in order to provide specialized technical support.
• Plan and conduct continuous evaluation of new/alternative raw materials in order to improve products and ensure CEMEX’s competitive advantage
• Manage the strategic collaborations with external chemical suppliers to identify or co-develop, and secure, new raw materials.
• Plan and direct benchmarks of chemical admixtures and raw in order to monitor competition and new technologies.
• Supervise and participate in internal and external committees in order to ensure and determine the evolution of norms and standards in the admixture business.
• Participate within Global Sourcing/Procurement and CX Admixture Operations in order to recommend technical evaluation/validation of raw materials.
• Due diligence and analysis of businesses in the Chemical Admixtures sector

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Science / Engineering; Preferably in chemistry or chemical engineering.
• Masters Degree preferred in Organic Chemistry.
• 100% English proficient. Spanish a clear advantage
• 8-10 years’ experience in Chemical Admixtures Industry; Raw materials sourcing / Admixture formulation / product development / polymer synthesis / Production and QCA
• 5+ years experience in Project Leadership and Technical Support; preferably experience in management position.
