Responsibilitiespreferred locations: Netherlands, Belgium, FranceDesign, develop and deliver European Regenerative agricultural programs, which supports PepsiCo Global Winning with Purpose / PEP Positive vision and commitment to generate shareholder value and economic growth while preserving natural resources, contributing to developing communities and striving to reduce our environmental impact.Work within the PepsiCo European & Global Commodities Organisations to leverage existing advantaged practices and establish new regenerative best practices for Europe sector.This is a new role that comes with the commitment for Pep+ program.Accountabilities:Deliver on pep+ objectives:
  • Regen Ag acres of 300k for 2022 (133k oils; 47k grains; 120k sweeteners) and year over year growth to 1.5MM for 2030
  • GHG removals of 6k for 2022 (2k oils, 2k grains, 2k sweeteners) and year over year growth of 0.56MM for 2030
Strategy development:
  • Develop Regenerative Ag programs for agricultural commodities and implement them within budget
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Regen Ag programs in a landscape across multiple PEP categories in crop rotations
GP pep+ Positive Agriculture liaison for the Operating Unit:
  • Support the pep+ Positive Agriculture Roadmaps and execution for Supplier Sourced raw materials (sweetener, veg oil and grains) within Europe sector
  • Participate in BU cluster pep+ reviews between GP and Sustainability Office
  • Regularly connect with Europe Commodities Director on progress and decision making
Project management for existing and new projects:
  • Lead the management of the various projects together in the various geographies and crops and be the link with suppliers and local implementers
  • Support development of scaling of viable practices and economic models that are based on these early pilots
Initiate GHG foot-printing where it has not begun:
  • Organise with suppliers and implementation partners further CFT assessments within various supply sheds, with focus on Sugar beet, whole Corn and oilseeds
Evolve projects from GHG foot-printing to development of Regen Ag practices:
  • Collaborate with different suppliers to expand RegenAg practice implementation based on the CFT analysis and expand the number of hectares under program
  • Training – supporting workshops and training sessions to communicate Regenerative Agro goals to suppliers and support and development of colleagues.
Support work to expand use of certification platforms that represent regen ag outcomes:
  • Engage with suppliers to get ready for ISCC+ certification on Veg Oils and SAI on sugar beet and grains
  • Elaborate potential certification schemes for the Wheat and Corn grits
Identify Agronomy capacity within the OU:
  • Identify within BU agronomy partners that would be able to create context specific regen ag practice implementation plans with farmers
  • Support contracting with these partners as required
Qualifications
  • Further Education qualifications relevant to business application. Ideally Master Degree in Agricultural Science or similar Sustainability qualification
  • 10+ years of experience
  • High level of project management skills combined with excellent analytical skills and ability to clearly communicate with all levels of the PepsiCo Organisation’s and suppliers
  • Ability to work alone and take initiative. Identify potential roadblocks and profile them to Management for clarification and resolution. Manage and execute projects in a timely manner. Ability to prioritise
  • High level of Computer literacy (PowerPoint, Excel and Tableau; Ability to navigate & exploit Internet, interrogate SAP and other business applications)
  • Minimum 5 years working in Agriculture or Supply Chain with a high degree of agronomic job content. Specific oilseeds/grains/sugar beet experience and agronomy experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrably powerful influencer. Passionate about Agriculture and Regen Ag and experience of delivering transformational agenda
  • Strong collaboration and matrix management not only internal but with external suppliers and organisations.
  • High level of people development and influence over external parties.
  • Key industry knowledge and leverage of practices of commodty crops with direct transfer opportunities to other crops.
