Description

Risks & Compliance is an independent division which monitors the Bank’s activities to ensure they are fully in compliance with all relevant laws, rules and regulations while always keeping a close eye on clients’ risks and interests. The division is involved in the management of all the Bank’s operations, monitoring its activities to keep them within the defined risk framework, and participates in the approval process for new developments in products and services. It is dedicated to supporting our Bank business lines at the same time as protecting the Bank’s interests and reputation.

Mission

Ensuring that existing clients to the bank are compliant with Swiss laws, regulations and internal guidelines and standards.

Challenges

Compliance officer function.

Main responsibilities

Review the cases escaladed by the Business Risk Managers in charge of the client periodical reviews, the cases escalated by the transaction monitoring team, the cases part of Bank thematic reviews
Review relationships and perform checks in databases and in-depth searches to identify and mitigate any AML, legal or reputational risk
Draft communications for the Money Laundering Reporting Office (MROS) through the Go AML tool
Prepare memos and submit cases to relevant Committee/s of the Bank. Follow-up of the decisions taken by Committees
Monitor law and regulatory changes which may lead to change in customer servicing and internal policies in Switzerland

Assure that Swiss laws, regulations, and internal guidelines are respected in the review process
Maintains and revise internal directives and procedures
Participate in different Compliance Projects
Act as business partner to other team members and departments of the Bank when required
Work collaboratively with other Compliance teams within and outside Switzerland

Education

  • Education: Master Degree
  • Certification: • University degree or completed by the Certificate of Compliance Management or equivalent
  • IT Tools: IT skills (Excel)

Experience

  • Years of experience: 3-7 : intermediate
  • Experience required: Previous experience of at least 5 years in a similar function Proficiency level of French and English. Other languages are a plus (Turkish, Portuguese)
  • Experience in private banking: Mandatory

Language

  • French: Mother Tongue
  • English: Fluent

Personal skills

  • Swiss resident: Mandatory

Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively within a team environment Strong decision making, analytical and investigative abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
