Job Description


lm Group is looking for a Consolidation specialist for its Consolidation team based in Chiasso.

This position will contribute actively to the preparation, analysis and release of the Group consolidated financial statements, in accordance with IFRS, internal control requirements and Group monthly financial calendar. Furthermore, the candidate will facilitate the Consolidation team in completing several tasks supporting other relevant departments internal to the Group.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain and execute the reconciliation of consolidated ledger accounts and financial statements (Monthly preparation of Consolidated balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and equity statements, capital expenditure schedules, intercompany schedules etc.)
  • Analyse and reconcile on a monthly basis the Group Net Financial Position and Net Working Capital
  • Develop, test, deploy and maintain consolidated reports in Tagetik
  • Design and maintain internal control over financial reporting processes and perform control activities in the respective area of responsibility
  • Implement periodical reviews on the reporting packages prepared by local finance managers
  • Develop and maintain a documented system of procedures to ensure efficient operation of systems, processes and controls and accuracy of financial reporting, including support to the Group subsidiaries for reporting guidelines
  • Support the implementation and set-up of the consolidation procedures and the intercompany set-up
  • Manage the relationship with external auditors and consultants for ordinary requests
  • Support in the preparation of the Impairment Test (IAS 36) and Interim/Annual disclosures
  • Support in the preparation of forecast figures and financial modelling upon request

Qualifications


Essential

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical accounting and financial reporting (with deep knowledge of IFRS GAAP) obtained in major multinational group or a consultancy/audit firm
  • English proficiency level both oral and written
  • Microsoft Excel skills at advanced level, including lookups, pivots and other relevant formulas

Desirable

  • Previous experience of audit background gained in a one of a Big-4
  • Knowledge of Tagetik consolidation reporting system or similar

Abilities/qualities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise guidance and instructions to subsidiaries, other Group functions and Departments
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with personnel at all organisational levels and contributing to a team
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, self-motivated and used to working in dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Flexibility of working practices, priorities and availability during peaks of the season to meet business demands
  • Ability to build strong relationships required for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
