Contract/Perm: Contract (6-Months)

A Fantastic new role has just opened up at one of our leading Swiss based clients offering the successful candidate the opportunity to join a hard-working team working on exciting projects in the pharmaceutical sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Safety culture to be implemented on project to ensure Zero Lost Time Incidents - work with EPCM Safety Team to implement initiatives, standards, processes to achieve this
  • Coordinate safety reviews on an ongoing basis independently, with the clients EHS and with the EPCM EHS Team to ensure safety is being proactively reviewed and managed
  • Ensure safety observations are identified, corrective actions put in place and closed out and communicated to all contractors on the project
  • Continuous improvement of Construction Management Plan and Construction Health and Safety Plan with the EPCM
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all the client’s installation and construction procedures and standards to enable site reviews against them on an ongoing basis throughout the project
  • Ongoing quality checks of mechanical pipework, pipework supports, cable trays and ductworks in compliance with the approved 3d Model and all client’s standards and close-out any issues found with EPCM company.
  • Coordinate with EPCM to manage all services to construction complete ensuring all obstacles are removed from EPCM and other contractors
  • Planning and realizing a demanding construction project in close cooperation with internal customers, future users, and interdisciplinary planning teams
  • Construction coordination tasks for the project team with the assigned EPCM company for the project including Mechanical, Electrical, Ductwork
  • Technical negotiations with the client’s suppliers with the clients Procurement where necessary.
  • Reviewing claims for variations from the EPCM including resolution of any conflicts associated with them to the point where they can review and approved by the PM.
  • Lead external construction companies assigned to the client and not part of the EPCM contract
  • Ensure that the project objectives deadlines, quality, and safety of the assigned construction projects are achieved
  • Coordinating with the EPCM contractor and internal construction projects to ensure planning of activities are performed
  • Coordination with all other Ibex project CMs to ensure activities planned are fully reviewed for impact with other projects.
  • Manage all of the clients owned works and coordinate them with the EPCM - e.g. the façade, ductwork and pipework opens to the roof, façade grilles for AHUs, Helicopter lifts to roof, waste interface with existing operational tanks, coordinating tie-ins to existing systems with Eng. Utilities, bringing on services
  • Support all construction testing as the clients `witness` and ensure all test documentation is completed and closed (pressure testing of pipework etc)
  • Review all Contractor Turnover Documentation for accuracy against the approved design and resolve punches with the individual contractors.
  • Maintain an expert view on the 3D Coordination Building Information Model (BIM) so all clashes can be resolved, and the installation checked against the model on an ongoing basis
  • System walkdowns to achieve Mechanical completion and drive punch list to closure with EPCM and individual contractor companies
  • Equipment coordination with suppliers, EPCM team and external Logistics team to ensure sizing, crate configuration and entry method to site are all reviewed and approved prior to equipment installation
  • Fire Compartments - maintain all fire compartments and liaise with all other project CMs in Ibex to ensure compartments are not impacted negatively from all projects during construction
  • Clean room installation and services coordination to ensure ISO cleanroom standards are met and all issues resolved with the EPCM.
  • Organisation and management of external 3rd party companies to assist in quality checks such as weld inspection, supplier audits etc
  • Other activities as defined by the Project Manager

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Architecture and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Cleanroom construction management project experience to Grade C
  • Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) knowledge and expertise required
  • Knowledge and experience of Navis Works 3D Building Information Management software (BIM)
  • Knowledge and experience of project scheduling using Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Construction management experience in biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical companies
  • Experience of clean and black utility requirements for the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Structured thinking, problem solving with open and excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Excellent German and English language ability (project will be executed primarily in English)
