UNITAR’s Green Development and Climate Change Programme Unit (GCP) develops methodologies, executes training, supports learning strategies, and facilitates knowledge-sharing with the goal to strengthen capacities in developing countries to implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and to advance a green, low emission and climate resilient transition.
The Consultant will support the development of quality learning products and outreach materials through video production and editing.
You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as selection will be done on a rolling basis until the position is filled. We are looking for a video editor/motion graphic designer to start immediately.
Under the supervision of a lead project videographer, the consultant will provide the following support:
- Edit engaging videos for our e-learning platform, using b-roll, stock footage, talking heads and motion graphic animations.
- Execute and develop branded motion graphics including title scenes and animations.
- Post-production finishing work, sound design editing, encoding, and mastering.
- Provide creative input in the development of audio-visual content.
- Timely and quality submission of deliverables.
- Activities implemented with a high degree of effectiveness and efficiency.
- High degree of professionalism demonstrated by the consultant.
- Experience in translating vision into motion graphics.
- Advanced technical skills in creating motion graphics.
- Strong understanding and experience of video production, in particular of post-production.
- Work independently and take initiative.
- Experience related to the environment is desirable.
- Plan and organise projects.
- Work in a multicultural environment.
- Engage with professionals and experts, working with various and unique skill sets.
- Experience in filming is an asset.
The consultant will report to the Director, Division for Planet, Manager, Green Development and Climate Change Programme Unit, Division for Planet.
Qualifications/minimum requirements
- Professional or academic qualifications as video editors/motion graphic designers.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with video editing and animations.
- Experience with colour correction, editing.
- Experience with motion graphics.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere and Audition).
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an asset.
The assignment will be home-based. The Consultant will be therefore required to use his/her own computer and required software.
Consultants are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local laws. UNITAR does not reimburse Consultants for any taxes, duty, or other contribution payable by the Consultant on payments made under the consultancy contract.
The Institute does not provide or arrange life or health insurance coverage for Consultant, and Consultant are not eligible to participate in the life and health insurance schemes provided by the UN for its staff members.
