As the Country Director, you will build and lead a highly experienced Key Account Management, Market Access, and Sales team to drive the business successfully. This position reports to the Cluster Head and will be part of their Leadership team.You Will Add Value By
  • Establishing and owning the execution of the strategic country business plan.
  • Establishing, designing, and hiring your team. Thereafter, leading with the highest standard of Novavax leadership, values, and team-spirited expectations.
  • Ensuring each team member provides the highest level of service to all customers per respective Global and Regional Teams.
  • Leading the Market Access execution locally in collaboration with the Global and European Market Access teams.
  • Developing, leading, and executing sales & pull-through strategies, plans and initiatives to achieve sales objectives and increase market share.
  • Working closely with Global and Regional Marketing to develop and execute the campaigns and communication tactics, including digital and new technologies.
  • Monitoring competitive activity to ensure Novavax is abreast of new developments in the marketplace at the country level.
  • Ensuring compliance with Novavax Global and Regional guidelines as well as local laws and regulations.
  • Coordinating directly with Novavax commercial counterparts and/or established partners to ensure adequate access, coverage/reimbursement, and supply chain are in place to facilitate product availability in your countries.
  • Working cross-functionally to uncover regional business trends, opportunities, and needed resources to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Building key customer relationships with existing and future customers.
  • Owning your country’s Launch Excellence Plan (LEP) for commercial and pipeline assets.
  • Working closing with Global/regional Policy Team to lead in-country policy strategy representing Novavax with relevant policymakers, associations, and Advisory boards where permissible.
  • Supporting Business / Corporate Development initiatives throughout your countries
  • Representing your country within Novavax Global and Regional Sr. leadership.
You Will Add Value With
  • Minimum of 7 yrs. of successful experience in leadership positions with emphasis on customer-facing roles (Sales, Marketing, and Market Access). General Management experience highly desired or ‘second in command’ min 3 years experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 yrs. extensive commercial experience in the Biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry. 3 yrs. Vaccine-specific experience is highly desirable.
  • B.A./B.S. required MBA / Ph.D. preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and goals - in a complex and dynamic market.
  • Must be located within the assigned country and speaks a minimum of one designated country language and English proficiency.
  • Experienced in a start-up environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong collaborative, highly customer-focused negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Thrives in changing and ambiguous environments requiring flexibility, agility, and creativity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills. Experience building and leading effective teams.
  • Robust understanding of the assigned country’s pharmaceutical/vaccine law, codes, and regulations. Desired Vaccines Technical Operations general knowledge to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
