We are searching for a Data Engineer to join the Scrum team of our Macro Data (MAD) Product, within the Data, Analytics, and Tech platform.

MAD is a brand-new product under construction in charge of the delivery of the Macro Data portal, the self-service solution for investment and macroeconomic teams at PAM who need to access and consume macro data and insights. The successful candidate will be based in Geneva.

As a data engineer, you will work in a full cloud environment (AWS) and actively contribute to the creation of our new Macro Data Portal.

You will build a pipeline on AWS to process raw data sources (structured and unstructured) and compose timeseries into exploitable indicators and monitor themes and regions.

You will support frontend web apps on AWS to allow investment and macroeconomics teams to access and consume macro data.

You will support the full Macro Data stack according to the principle “You build it, you run it!”.

You will contribute to product ceremonies and perform demos to end users (Agile work environment).

You will work closely with our team of economists.

Your role
  • Design and implement the data pipeline.
  • Contribute actively to the running of the product (troubleshooting, monitoring, optimization, dealing with user requests).
  • Evaluate data sources with high added value for investment.
  • Willingness to create visualization dashboards and software prototypes.
  • Willingness to contribute to web app design and implementation.

Your profile
  • Strong background in computer science is mandatory.
  • Fluent in Python.
  • Experience in data pipelining and all related technologies on AWS.
  • Experience with relational database programming (SQL).
  • Good knowledge of unstructured data and/or graph databases (NoSQL, Neo4j, etc.).
  • Knowledge in building frontend web app (React, JS, HTML, CSS).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and languages (Tableau, D3.js, JavaScript, etc.) would be a plus.
  • AWS Certification (Solution Architect, Big Data) would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of finance would be a plus.
  • You are a team player and comfortable working as part of a global team.
  • You have perfect command of English. French is a plus.
  • Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
