We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join their team and contribute to their mission of advancing oncology research.Job Summary: As a Junior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in impacting early-stage clinical trials and drug discovery programs by providing valuable inputs into data quality control and analysis. You will work on a diverse range of data science projects, including processing and analyzing ’omics data, contributing to computational modeling of biological processes, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance computing environment and make a significant impact on advancing cancer research.Responsibilities
  • Contribute to early-stage clinical trials and drug discovery programs by providing inputs into data quality control and data analysis.
  • Write code to process and analyze ’omics data, such as high throughput screening, RNASeq, and scRNASeq, within a high-performance computing environment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing your expertise in data science.
  • Participate in a range of data science projects based on your interest and skillset, which may include visualization, data ingestion and processing, and computational modeling of biological processes.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Computational Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
  • Languages: Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication.
  • Essential Experience/Professional Requirements:
    • Experience using the R programming language (Bioconductor/Tidyverse/RShiny).
    • Experience applying bioinformatics workflows and software to analyze and quality control RNA-seq datasets and other ’omics data types.
    • Knowledge of biological sciences, genetics, and genomics.
    • Ability to clearly communicate and explain analytical methods and their application.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Experience with CUT&Tag datasets or deep molecular scanning (DMS) technologies.
    • Experience processing clinical oncology datasets, including cfDNA datasets.
