The Associate Director, Finance EMEA, is a key support to the EMEA Head of Finance and have overall responsible for leading the finance BPA function in its key business process and daily operations. The current focus of the role is on the Company’s lead program, AVXS-101 in SMA; over time, other product candidates and diseases will be under the scope of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the expense planning, annual budgeting and real-time LBE forecasting process for Commercial team.
  • Strategically plan and organize regular updates on how team is tracking against expense and resource requirements vs. approved budget and Latest Best Estimate (LBE) plans.
  • Drive for BPA the necessary support on the monthly closure of management accounts, ensure completion of required management reporting and submission of full analysis, covering bank balance, account payable and receivables, balance sheet, profit and loss, ledgers, etc. Meet required timelines.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual budget process/inputs reasonableness for all EMEA countries and preparation for presentations.
  • Be a strategic supporter on new business investment projects, collaboration in terms of processes and financials.
  • Liaise with external vendors for payroll, accounting and tax.
  • Responsible for alignment of financial /ERP systems and processes implementation project.
  • Conduct necessary audits, locally and regionally, to ensure compliance with audit, tax and statutory/government requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of compliance with group policies and instructions including internal controls.
  • As head of BPA for EMEA to manage the revenue reporting and costing for products with reference to agreement/contracts.
  • Fulfill any other duties as and when assigned by the Head of Finance EMEA.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of overall multinational biotech accounting/finance experience.
  • Budgeting, planning, forecasting, business modeling and advanced analysis.
  • Strong technical knowledge and exposure in both general and cost accounting.
  • Very strong Excel knowledge ideally with macros and visual basic.
  • Extremely resourceful and smart individual, problem-solver and self-starter, with the appetite to deliver results while dealing with ambiguity.
  • Team player, at regional and global level.
  • Proficiency written and verbal communication skills in local language and English is required.
  • Experience successfully collaborating with an EMEA/Corporate HQ operations to achieve local and regional success.
  • Must be a well-organized, high energy, detail oriented, and persistent executive with
    the ability to identify/focus on key issues, prioritize efforts, and ensure follow up with
    timely/quality results.
  • A genuine care for patients and a desire to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
  • The highest ethics and moral standards; unquestioned integrity.
The level of this position will be based on the final candidate’s qualifications.
