Avanade proudly launches the Data Analytics Academy, in collaboration with Avanade and Techionista, offering you the unique opportunity to grow your capabilities. Whether or not you have relevant experience, this Academy is designed to give you the skills and certifications so you can take your career to new heights in the field of data and artificial intelligence.

The Data Analytics Techionista Academy is ...

The 100% online Academy will introduce you to the world of data and analytics. Sessions will take place in English and combines theoretical modules with practical work modules. Avanade offers you a unique opportunity to kickstart your career in Tech.

The technical components of the Techionista Academy comprise of the following Microsoft Certifications; Azure Fundamentals AZ 900, Data Analyst DA 100 and Azure Data Engineer DP 203.

The duration of the academy is 16 weeks starting in May 2022.

What will be your role in our Avanade Data Analytics team after the academy?

Within our data analytics team we have multiple roles. As you progress through the academy we will help you identify which roles you would like to be aligned with. Below is a brief overview of two of our roles.

Data Engineer:

Do you love making sure that information is available and consumable? So do we.

As a Data Engineer Consultant, you know the importance of data to the business. You design and set up projects that bring together information from various sources to enable analysis and decision-making. You make sure that data is accessible and easy to use for routine and ad-hoc analysis.

Day-to-day, you will be:

• Finding trends in data sets and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise.
• Collecting the data from various sources, transforming it into desire formats, and storing it into data stores like Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Implementing complex, large-scale big data projects focusing on collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets.
• Taking part in designing and running bespoke data services for individual projects.
• Staying up to date with leading-edge processes in using, retrieving data, building machine learning models.
• Crafting and use effective metrics and monitoring processes.
• Support deal teams by providing subject knowledge and solutions for client proposals.
  
  

Power BI Consultant

Do you love telling stories with data using modern visualisation techniques? So do we.

The role of a Power BI consultant is a mixture of consulting skills alongside technical data modelling and visualisation skills.

Our projects are varied and may be anything from creating a short proof of value to a large reporting suite as part of a modern data platform solution in Azure.

As part of a large global community of Power BI consultants within Avanade, there is extensive training, support and guidance to help to develop your Power Platform skills to the next level.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ingesting data from a variety of data sources and performing required transformations using Power Query and Data Flows.
• Data modelling capabilities including designing effective BI data models in line with the Kimball methodology and best practice.
• Publishing reports via the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access (N.B> for large scale deployments this is often undertaken by our managed services team).
• Working closely with clients, gathering requirements and translating them.
• Shaping an approach for governance and deployment of Power BI in large organisations, including advising on licensing, distribution/sharing, training, support and best practices.
