Legal Counsel OTC Advisory

It is a key position within General Counsel closely advising Credit Suisse’s front desks and trading & sales professionals for a broad variety of business partners globally and covering the bank’s various divisions, including International Wealth Management, Swiss Universal Bank, Investment Banking and Asset-Management divisions. Furthermore, it’s a challenging and interesting role as member of a team of legal trading experts within the General Counsel Division providing legal coverage connected to Over the Counter (“OTC”) derivatives, securities lending and repurchasing products. In this role you are responsible for drafting and negotiating bespoke client agreements, reviewing netting legal opinions, as well as providing legal advice on all related queries. You are also in charge of overseeing regulatory developments, leveraging appropriate areas and stakeholders within the bank and liaising with external counsel as well as industry bodies. You will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including credit, compliance, treasury, tax and operations to develop solutions for clients.

You should have the following skills

• University degree in law or similar legal education preferably from a Swiss University, admission to the bar would be an asset
• A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in private practice or in-house, preferably in the trading area with exposure to securities lending, repurchasing and OTC product coverage
• You are open, flexible and have a team-orientated personality and are self-motivated with excellent communication skills that enable you to contribute to the team’s success as well as to work well under pressure
• You have a structured approach and the ability to identify and analyze issues and resolve them in a timely manner
• You are a dedicated problem solver with a positive personality and can-do attitude
• Excellent command of English and German, verbal and written (French or Italian desirable)
