Your Team

Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is a leading alternative investment specialist with expertise in hedge funds, private equity and global real estate. PAA is an independent unit of the Pictet Group, managing over USD 30 billion.

The Group has strong development ambitions for PAA over the coming years. To keep pace with this growth, PAA is looking to hire a Legal Products Advisor to steer its development and shape the firm’s global range of products and its distribution strategy.

As a Legal Products Advisor, you will report to the Head of PAA Legal.

Your Role

  • Preparing and reviewing fund-related documentation.
  • Instructing and managing external counsel in relation to fund creation and transactional work.
  • Reviewing intra-Group agreements between the Group and affiliates, such as delegation agreements and service level agreements.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory/industry developments and providing periodic updates.
  • Working with different teams such as Operations, Finance, Investment Specialists and the product managers to implement product solutions.
  • Assessing and strengthening the product offering in terms of viability, relevance, value-add for the clients and alignment with the wider business strategy.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to create cross-functional synergies.
  • Maintaining strong awareness of the relevant industry- and product-related trends and regulations (e.g. SFDR) to ensure leading product positioning.
  • Acting as a leader of continuous improvement of our governance and product development processes.

Your Profile

  • Attorney’s licence.
  • Three to five years’ experience in a law firm or a financial institution with a focus on investment/asset management, ideally in private markets and specifically covering fund formation, regulatory and compliance as well as product management.
  • Practical knowledge of operations and financial products. Ideally previous experience with different fund types, such as ELTIFs, semi-liquid products, jurisdictional funds and registrations, as well as ‘plain vanilla’.
  • Ability to work with different service providers, both legal and operational.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Natural communicator and enthusiastic personality.
  • Eager to learn, helpful and solution driven.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and with teams in multiple locations.
  • Complete proficiency in English and French and at ease discussing complex legal matters in both languages. Understanding of German would be a plus.
  • The position can be based either in Luxembourg or Geneva. If based in Geneva, the position will require taking up residency in Switzerland.

As the chosen candidate, you will be keen to join a team where you can demonstrate your excellent analytical skills, organisational flair and your ability to work as part of a team. Your approachability, versatility and ability to withstand stress will help to ensure that you successfully complete the various tasks for which you will be responsible. Moreover, your initiative and foresight will allow you to develop solutions that meet business needs.
