The main purpose of the role will be to manage the introduction and monitoring of quality planning in design/engineering and project management (JE-PDS: Johnson Electric Product Development System). Moreover, the Project Quality Engineer will be the first point of contact to our customers globally, therefore excellent stakeholder management and communication skills are required for the role.

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Translate customer specific requirements into JE characteristics;
  • Handle design and process issues from a quality perspective, solving problems innovatively and proactively;
  • Prepare regular APQP & PPAP documentation;
  • Identify the Critical product characteristics for product performance and reliability along with their management via control of specific process characteristics;
  • Undertake the moderation; administration and training role within FMEA;
  • Undertake the design and process related cycle of learning while implementing plans and actions;
  • Define project quality requirements for product level, components, intercompany subsystems and purchase parts;
  • Ensure project quality tasks in JE-PDS and its Milestones reviews;
  • Undertake process audits as required;
  • Undertake the monitoring and correct implementation of the Control Plan;
  • Ensure the safe launch plan at the JE manufacturing side

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive industry (product development specialization is preferred);
  • knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D , MSA, Cpk study, gained through experience;
  • Knowledge of relevant standard and customer specific documentation. (e.g.ISO TS 16949, VDA, AIAG, etc.);
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills;
  • Experience in undertaking process audits;
  • The ability to travel to our European Sites ;
  • You are reliable; precise and a self-starter; as well as a problem solver;
  • You have excellent English communication skills both written and verbal, plus German or French;
  • A master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
